I thought I'd start a thread where we could post about good books on the subject.
To start with I'd like to talk about the "Viking" trilogy by Tim Severin. While they are fictional books, they are very interesting and give a good insight into the Norse belief system. The trilogy follows the story of Thorgils Leiffson, who is an Odinn devotee who can read runes. I'd highly recommend them and I think you can buy them from places like Amazon etc.

Sounds good! Hh, I thought about writing a fantasy piece about someone who is either Celtic or wiccan... I've heard of this trilogy, just haven't read it yet... *will read* XD

I could start today, if I get hit by inspiration currently I'm having one of my characters write a very haughty letter to another character -- they're both sideline people, but nevertheless, they're the PERFECT outlet for explaining some of the events... I've decided to add a nobility twist to their world, which makes my heroins' fate all the more bitter. God would I run as fast as I can if I ever got the chance to meet my characters in person... XDDD

Personally, I think I'd be happy if I ever met my characters. They're all little freakshow parts of me.

Huh, well yer lucky like that... XD I really torment my characters to a certain degree. True... since I wrote them, I could just write them to make them like me, but... XDDD *demented*

Did I totally not write my ultimate favorite trilogy here yet? *blanche* Snow Queen trilogy by Joan Vinge. A MUST read. And of course how could we forget The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley...

I recently (sort of) read this book called Animal-Speak the Spiritual & Magical Powers of Creatures Great and Small By Ted Andrews. Anyone read/heard of it? If so, what are your opinions on the book/author?
